Each college at Boston University has a Student Government. COM Student Government is the governing student body of the College of Communication undergraduate student body.
Our goals for the 2022-2023 school year:
To include and encourage general members at biweekly meetings to get more involved with COM StuGov by offering more opportunities for them to engage with the organization, help plan events, etc...
To plan and execute one event open to the COM student body per month.
To benefit COM students by expanding the Town Hall by having a keynote speaker, career development/internship/class Q&A, and COM student organization networking time.
To uphold the tradition of hosting a spring charity fundraising event where 100% of the profits will be donated to a meaningful organization to the COM student body.
To raise attendance numbers at general meetings and events, and maintain this number throughout the year.
To facilitate conversations through our DEI Department (COM Direct) regarding the changing political and social climate between the student body and faculty.
To better support and help first-year COM students by offering opportunities and events to encourage them to ask questions, learn about the COM community, and network with students and faculty.
To work more closely with other student governments and organizations in order to best serve the collective student body.
Our general meetings are held on a bi-weekly basis and are open to all BU COM students! If you are a COM student looking to get involved, COM Student Government is for you. We'd love to meet you and hear your ideas! Don't hesitate to contact us for more information and meeting times at firstname.lastname@example.org.
General meetings (open to any and all COM students) will occur on a biweekly basis beginning on Wednesday, September 13th.
All general meetings will occur on Wednesdays from 6:00 to 7:00 PM in COM 101.
Come say hi!
